And then it snowed again...

Kubota Fats came again this morning to clear the drive. An hour later it commenced to snow again; that was an hour ago. We are warned to expect up to 8 inches of new snow today. The snow you see accumulated on my poor wee Camry is from yesterday through today. Weather Guy also cheerily informed us at noon that this storm will abate to make way for a much larger storm tomorrow.

Late this afternoon my neighbor Jack emailed me some pictures he took today. The shot above was taken through my 'office' window which is actually two panes of terribly dirty vinyl with much condensation trapped between. The picture reflects how I feel about winter in general, but Jack's shots are much clearer. If you click on this to enlarge it, you'll see a light in the window at this end of the trailer...that means I'm sitting in that corner at the keyboard. The snow in the bottom of the picture is what's been plowed and piled between Jack's place and ours. If you're real sharp you'll note the far spruce tree tilting...that particular tree lives one building away, so I don't know at all if that's natural or if the heavy snow has beaten it into submission.

This photo was taken from Jack's front porch and shows our "back yard"...which is no longer accessible, thanks to roof melt and sheer volume of snow this year. We use that little porch for storage and a pantry. I love the kitchen window, and ALL the windows we have, but they must be heavily draped in winter for insulation against killer heat bills. When spring comes all the drapes will be pulled down, laundered and stashed away, and replaced with light, breezy sheers where needed. We have mini-blinds throughout the trailer, so I don't really need drapery anywhere except for looks. I can hardly stand the waiting for an end to winter. My bones are tired and muscles are aching from my labor in the driveway. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight and get ready for whatever comes tomorrow, with the next wave of weather. Feels like it's going to be a long time until the greenie spring growth will revive my spirit.
